My Friends. My Life. My Phone

Colors of life, songs of glee, ice creams, chocolates, late night calls, poems through SMSes and those never ending missed calls make me smile at the middle of the night. Suddenly the whole setting changes. I could see Jacob pestering me for glasses of beer, I could see Julie giving me scary stares, and I could see Mary aunt cooking wonderful porridge for me. How beautiful my past was – I still wonder sometimes!

Phases of life – I understand there are different stages in one’s life. I had no Facebook, Twitter or even Orkut in my graduation days. The only company I had was my phone. It was the strongest weapon I had. Camera phones were big craze during my college days. Even I had one and I was extremely proud of that. Female attention! True. Enough I had due to my phone. Clicking them in various poses was sheer fun. Those golden pictures are shining now in my photo album. I still remember Shally’s curly long hair, Monica’s dimples and Tanya’s pimples.

The journey continued amid laughter and glitter. I became extremely conscious about my telephonic personality. I was always so choosy about my ringtone. Queen’s “I want to break free” became my tune and I never took time to flaunt it. People started borrowing my tones. My taste for tunes was always appreciated. I became a proud man. Whoa!

Addiction is my second name. I am so prone to it. Poetry, good music, friends, wine, movies and dreams kept me busy. Days were hectic; nights were golden.  SMSing was my passion. There was so much beauty in those texts. I still remember my fingers moving at rocket speed. The faded keypad was just fine to send messages to that special someone…

Oh! So many memories, so less words. The strange journey continued although the charm of yesteryears began to fade. I lost my phone; my pet died, I stayed without it for six long months, that’s the time when I took up blogging to satiate my love for expression. I began to socialize with the whole world from the silent corner of my world. I was disconnected from the real planet, took happiness from the virtual world. My momentary hibernation came to an end when I bought my first smart phone. I became conspicuous again.

The world looks so closer now, I can chat, send mails, tweet, blog, exchange pictures and smiles through my phone. Technology is bliss, it’s poetic, and it’s something that makes your life smoother, gorgeous and smarter. It took twenty seven years to realize my constant love – My phone.

My love almost doubled tonight after writing this post. Thanks Tata DOCOMO OneTouch Net Phone,Indiblogger and of course you (my readers/friends) for patiently listening to my life...

The journey continued…
