40,000 music lovers head bangs at BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender 2016, Shillong

The North-Easterners are crazy about three things – That’s Football, Food, and Music. When it comes to these three things, there’s just no alternative. The North-Easterners are not only passionate about these things but they know how to flaunt their passion with panache.  If music is a religion, India’s North-East surely is the Mecca. You won’t find a house without a musical instrument in this part of India. From old to young, music is the lifeblood of the region.

The BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender, which came as a blessing last year to this region gets a record 40,000 visitors in this year’s edition. The venue - RBDSA in Bhoirymbong, Shillong was just ideal for this bohemian rock carnival. From rigorous head banging to free-spirited camping, from spots for perfect selfies to gorgeous alleys for biking, BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender 2016, Shillong just had everything in place to amuse everyone.

Some of the major names in this phenomenal music festival includes global rock music proponent Steven Wilson, guitarist and composer Dhruv Ghanekar’s experimental folk project Dhruv Voyage, London-based indie crew Wild Palms, India’s biggest bass creator Nucleya, homegrown blues stalwarts Soulmate who presented a special show on the History of the Blues, Bangla rock superstars Fossils, heavy metal heavyweights Undying Inc. and Manipuri folk-rock band Imphal Talkies. Undoubtedly, Farhan Live steal the show with thousands of fans singing along to his famous tunes on day one.

The Shillong leg of the festival featured five stages – BACARDÍ Arena, BACARDÍ House Party, The Dewarists, Breezer Vivid Village and Insider.in Other Stage.
